COMPANY HISTORY
RB Holden (Pete) founded Holden Loose Leaf in 1975 in a small parking garage and began manufacturing vinyl binders. Three decades later, Holden has become a family owned business selling nationwide which specializes in corporate packaging, promotional products, imports, and wearable's. Our customers are in all fields of industries from high tech computer hardware companies to small organizations. We work with anyone, anywhere, anytime...
Holden is a certified business with a well-earned reputation for delivering quality products in a timely manner at preferred pricing. Originally opening its doors in 1975 as a manufacturer of vinyl binders, the company has grown into a creative resource, helping clients meet their marketing objectives through the use of custom-imprinted products.
1975: THE BEGINNING
R.B. (Pete) Holden envisions a business opportunity by manufacturing and selling three-ring binders. He starts his operation in a small office building and parking garage at 2301 North Akard, across from what is now American Airlines Center. In addition to custom binders, he begins to offer printing and tabs to his customers. Holden becomes a nationwide supplier of business products.
1982: A YEAR OF EXPANSION
As business grows, so does the need for a larger management team as well as a second location. Three key people are added to the roster. Greg Smith joins the company as VP of Sales. He is soon followed by Debbie Cheatham as VP of Marketing. The Houston branch is established with Jim Giblin at the head.
1989: BRANCHING OUT
As the business world heads toward becoming a paperless society, Holden adapts to changes in the market by expanding its focus and entering the promotional products industry. This proves to be the perfect complement to the business we had already established. The world of specialty advertising enhances our opportunity to offer yet another way to provide service to our clients.
1992: A YEAR OF RECOGNITION
Texas Instruments names Holden "Vendor of the Year" in recognition of exemplary customer service. This award is a cherished milestone. It is the first time one of our Fortune 500 companies formally acknowledges our ability to service a large corporation. We subsequently receive the award again in 2004 and 2006 as our partnership with TI grows and strengthens.
2002: WOMEN AND THE WORLD
Marjorie (Marnie) Holden assumes leadership and Holden becomes a certified Woman-Owned company. Pete remains as a business consultant and binder specialist and begins to explore opportunities in overseas importing. Now clients can enjoy the advantages and benefits of doing business with a Minority-Owned Company.
2004: THE POWER OF PREMIER
Holden is invited to become a member of the premier group, an elite buying cooperative. Composed of distributors like ourselves, as well as the industryâs leading suppliers, this alliance offers us group support in terms of the sharing of information, knowledge and buying power. Our membership entitles us to the highest form of sales support and pricing â benefits we can pass on to our customers.
2008 AND BEYOND
The entire Holden family is actively involved in the business. Backed by an incredible sales and support staff, a loyal customer base and strong relationships with our expert suppliers, we anticipate an exciting future. Building on past successes, we are looking forward to creating innovative partnerships that will PUT YOUR BRAND INTO ACTION!
